This reissue, which marks the album's near-30-year legacy, will likely generate new, high-resolution releases, making it another excellent avenue for obtaining a "verified" lossless copy of Reload in the future.

The material on ReLoad was largely conceived during the same prolific writing sessions that produced Load . The band had written so much material that they originally envisioned releasing a double album. However, this idea was scrapped due to the pressure of recording and mixing such a large volume of songs at once. Instead, the band focused on finishing one half of the material for Load and continued working on the remaining tracks throughout 1997. The album was recorded at The Plant Studios in Sausalito, California, and was once again produced by the trusted team of James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, and Bob Rock.
